MAC Eyeshadow Pro Palette

Over the past couple of years, and as my make up has developed I have fallen more and more in love with eyeshadows. Back in the day, it used to be all about eyeliner for me, where as now I couldn't be more opposite. One thing I fell in love with the idea of when I got into eyeshadows was the MAC Eyeshadow Pro Palette, and I think people's palettes can say a lot about them..
mine says either I'm boring, or brown, orange and anything that shimmers are my best friends.
I just honestly think these are such a cute idea, because then you can build a palette and know you're going to use every colour. The palette itself contains 15 slots, then each of the pans cost £10 but last ages.

This is my current collection of eyeshadows, almost halfway there and as you can see I'm not very adventurous but I do love the neutrals / browns, this year however I do really want to branch out with these colours and go a bit more crazy, maybe throw in a couple of berry tones. So I thought I'd go into a bit more detail into the shades I currently own.

mulch

This was the first shade I ever bought and I love it. It's the perfect all over the lid brown shade and has a bit of a shimmer to it, what more could you ask for.

I use this as an everyday, all over lid shade, with a darker brown in the crease.

honey lust

Honey Lust is a beautiful gold shimmery shade which I actually originally bought to be an all over lid eyeshadow, however being tanned, I find sometimes lighter eyeshadows don't suit my skin tone, so now I mainly use this as an inner eye highlight, or brow bone highlight.

A look I sometimes do if I'm going out, is apply the darker orange shimmer shade to the inner corner, and outer edge of my lid and put this gold in the middle, this is usually when i'm feeling extra jazzy.

all that glitters

This is one of my newer shades, and I love it. For me it's the perfect glittery shade as it's got a nude/rose gold tint to it. The main reason I love this palette is you can take out the shadows and move them around, which being a bit of a perfectionist is helpful as I like to have things in an order, i.e shimmers with shimmers, mattes with mattes.

I use this mainly as an inner eye highlight, and brow bone highlight. I have also recently, because these shadows are really pigmented, been using this as a nose highlight, literally just getting a little bit on my finger and popping it on the tip of my nose.

mystery

I actually bought this shade in a beauty outlet store, I think for something crazy like £7.50. The next two shades are quite similar, as they are both matte, and both dark brown. Mystery however is more of a grey toned brown.

I use this on my outer eye and in my crease. Also if you're not wearing a dark shade on the lid, or you don't want to go heavy on the eyeliner this works nicely in smoking out your lash line.

handwritten

This brown shade is a lot softer and more of a warmer colour. I use this a lot with mulch, to blend out on the outer corner of my eyes.

This I use the same as mystery, although because it's also a bit warmer, I like to use it under my eyes as well, just below the lash line.

brown script

I love this colour so much, it's very much a burnt orange rust, in a matte shade and it gives me all the feels. I've been loving copper, orange shades recently (it's got everything to do with Kylie's bronze palette) and this is the perfect burnt orange all over lid shade, as it's not too bright orange but doesn't dull your eye.

I use this all over my lid, and under my eye, I also like to add glitter to the middle sometimes to just brighten it up, i.e. I did this on Christmas.

antiqued

My newest shade to my palette and probably my favourite at the moment. This is a beautiful shimmery bronze, burnt orange shade. It is easily my favourite eyeshadow that I've ever owned, did she really just say that? yes, yes I did.

It's really versatile, so I wear this all over my lid, or under my eye. I also use a gel liner in the shade rich ground as an all over lid shade which is a glittery orange a bit lighter than this one, and these two work great together with this in the crease. Basically I love it.

So, that is my current collection, I'll be sure to let you know when it grows, or once I've filled it up. I honestly think these palettes are so worth it, the eyeshadows are really nicely pigmented, and it's personalised, also you don't even have to fill it up it if you don't want to.

Do you have a palette that you fill up yourself? or are there any MAC shades you'd recommend?

Thank you very much for reading,
