PandaVita Protein Bites

Fitness has started to become quite a big part of my life, and since going to the gym regularly, I have noticed differences in my shape, and my general health. However, going to the gym doesn't make you instantly healthy as what you put in your body is equally, if not more important.

Now I won't lie I'm definitely not the healthiest person, I enjoy crisps and donuts on a regular basis, but that is something I want to start getting better at. My main issue is I snack, and I snack on unhealthy things, so recently I've been looking for healthy ways to crave my 'sna-appetite' teheh

The other day I stumbled across a brand called PandaVita, they produce an Organic Baobab Powder, which acts as a superfood and is a great way to get lots of nutrients into your body (rather than loading up on chilli heatwave doritos).

Over on their website which will be linked at the bottom of the page, they have loads of different recipes with ways to incorporate the powder into your diet, so I gave it a little go. I won't lie it wasn't as easy, or clean as I thought it was going to be but they taste delicious, so that's the main thing.

I did change up the recipe a little but I'll link the original recipe down below!

what youll need:

200g Oats
200g Pitted Dates
150g Dark Chocolate
2tbsp  Organic Baobab Powder
1tbsp Sesame Seeds
1tbsp Natural Coconut Peanut Butter

To create they are super simple (unless like me you manage to make everything difficult).

I was silly enough to not buy pitted dates, and it wasn't the end of the world but it did mean I had to pit all my dates. After I'd done that though, I blended the dates up. We don't have a food processor, so I thought it'd be a good idea to use my Breville Active Blend Blender, it worked, but I definitely wouldn't recommend it! Or if you don't have a processor and want to use this method, don't put all the dates in one go...

Once they'd eventually blended the recipe suggested adding all the ingredients into the processor and blending. Because of my lack of food processor, I gradually added the rest of the ingredients. When I make them again however,  I will definitely melt the chocolate first, as I found when I was shaping them there were still quite large chunks of chocolate.

In the end I gave up with the blender and used my hands, warning it got messy... very messy! Successful however, and once all the ingredients had combined, I shaped them. The recipe said to roll them into balls, but of course I had to make them look pretty.

Using a heart silicone mould, I know what you are thinking.. Genius! I filled up the silicone mould and put them in the fridge overnight.

I was actually really happy with the way they turned out, and they taste delicious so what more could you want? They're great as well as they're the perfect size to pop in a little tub and take around with me.

PandaVita is an incredible brand, with so many recipes of how to incorporate the Organic Baobab Powder into your diet, which I can't wait to try

Gym Headphones

Being a girl, one thing I massively struggle at the gym with is never having pockets, or pockets big enough to fit my phone. Pretty much all the leggings I own do not have pockets, and the one pair I do own that does have a pocket, are my Victoria Secret ones. I have an iPhone 6s Plus... so my biggest problem here is it never fits in the pocket anyway. I don't know about you, but I like to have headphones in at the gym so I can listen to my own music and get into the right mindset, but finding the right headphones for the gym can be tricky, especially if you have the same problem as me.

Apple Headphones (corded)

Now there is nothing wrong with Apple Headphones, I pretty much live and breathe in mine whether it's at the gym or on the bus, or when I'm watching videos on my laptop, I see nothing wrong with the sound quality. They don't really block out background noise, but turn the volume up to full and I'm in the zone.

My only downfall with these, like I said at the start, is because I never have pockets at the gym, corded headphones can be a pain as I always have to have my phone next to me, and especially with Apple Headphones because they are in-ear, mine can come out really easy, or the cord will catch on something, and it can just be a bit of nuisance. If I never have any other headphones or I'm in a rush, I do grab these because they're easy.

Frends Layla Headphones (corded)

These beauties are my pride and joy, I love these headphones for so many reasons, the sound quality is amazing, they look so beautiful and they are rose gold. These headphones have their advantages and disadvantages. Because they are over ear they cancel out sound, so I can really get in the zone at the gym, also going over my head, means they don't come out easily and are just a bit sturdier.

However.. I don't enjoy taking these to the gym as much mainly because of the rose gold metal they can get easily scratched or damaged, something I try and avoid at all costs. I can be quite 'rough' at the gym, where I just throw my headphones on the floor, so with these I have to be a bit more careful. Like the Apple Headphones these are also corded, therefore I still have the issue of having to have my phone next to me, or on my lap, so still not that practical.

Ministry of Sound Headphones (wireless)

Now we talking! These were the first headphones I bought specifically for the gym. They were wireless they came with a mixture of ear heads, and they were insanely discounted when I bought them. I have to say I really love these, the sound quality is not as good as the Apple ones, but I think this is just where they sometimes don't fit in my ear properly, but being wireless makes them so convenient. Also they are really small and come in a little carry case which is super practical.

So like most wireless headphones they work via bluetooth and the range on them is actually really good, not that the range bothers me too much, it just means I don't have to have my phone balancing on me, or getting in the way of my workout. My issue with these are they fall out easily, I am between a large/medium in the ear buds, so I do find them uncomfortable at times, and there is a little cord that keeps them connected (as you can see in the picture) this can sometimes get in the way.

August INTL Headphones (wireless)

Now, these are my newest headphones to add to the collection, and are easily my favourite for the gym. They're over ear, wireless, comfortable, easy to use and not that expensive. I'm really not that fussy when it comes to headphones, as long as they do the job I'm happy. But you know when you try something out and you're like yep this is what I've been looking for.

You can control the music via the headphones, the charge lasts ages, and they are ligh
t. My one and only issue with these are they don't come with any case and don't fold up so transporting them can be a pain. But these are my gym headphones, and usually I have my gym bag with me which has a lot of space. I wouldn't however use them if I was going on out and needed headphones.

August INTL actually have a discount on these at the moment if you follow this link you can get 40% off

What headphones do you use at the gym?
