My Season Experience

If you are new to my blog, or have forgotten what I was talking about six months ago (I wouldn't be surprised), the reason I haven't been active on my blog is because I've been doing a season abroad.
Back in April I wrote a post about Saying Yes to New Adventures ~ and it seemed weird to just jump straight back into 'normal' blogposts without touching on my experience.

I've been struggling to write this post however since getting back, mainly because I was like where do I even begin, and being away for so long, I almost forgot what kind of style my writing was, and I've changed since my last post. Most importantly though, I didn't want to bore you with all the ins and outs of doing a season. Instead I thought I'd talk about why I did it, and what I gained from the experience.

I will be back to posting more beauty, fashion etc. kind of posts though if this isn't really your type of read x

*

Why I did a Season?

I kind of go into this in my last post but the main reason I wanted to do a season was because I didn't go to university and I felt like I missed out on an experience. I'd previously been on a Neilson holiday and thought it would be amazing to go out there and work, especially looking after kids.

I guess, as cliche as it sounds another reason why I wanted to go away was to find myself.. it kind of got to the point in my life where I wasn't happy if I was alone, and I'd constantly have to seek happiness in others, which isn't necessarily a bad thing, but self-love n all that. Going away was a chance for me to make friends by myself, gain confidence, and more than anything independence. Going away for six months would've been the longest time I'd ever been away from my parents, but it wasn't just down the road, it was to a whole other country, and I appreciated this because it meant I really did need to learn to look after myself.

What was Season Life?

I mean Season Life is pretty self-explanatory, but before I'd done one, I could not have told you what it was or what it involved, other than of course doing seasons. Season Life is like a whole other culture, and you meet all kinds of people, all with their own reasons for doing a season.

When you are out there you are in this bubble, and it does consume you, you develop this whole other life surrounded by people who are pretty much your family, even though you've only known them for a few weeks. At first it's like 'wow, I never want to go home, this is the best thing ever, I love everything,' eventually though ~ for me anyway ~ the novelty wore off, and I began to miss the little things, like having a routine, my own bed, home cooking, my friends and family. Don't get me wrong I still loved every minute but it did get overwhelming sometimes, and towards the end I was ready to come home.

Before I went out I expected to make new friends, enjoy my job and just kind of make the most of being abroad. Of course I did all of that, but we also went out quite a lot, went on road trips, and spent pretty much all of the money we made.

What I Gained from the Experience?

I can't even begin to put into words how much I gained from going to Greece. I learnt so much, not only about making friends, and getting to know people, and how to survive a day looking after kids with only three hours sleep, but also I learnt so much about myself.

Towards the end of last year I went through a pretty rubbish phase, I hadn't gone to university, where all my friends were looking like they were having the time of their lives. I'd left a job where I was the happiest me, to go into a job which I hated, which I then quit and I was stuck, and lost... I didn't know what I wanted, or where I wanted to go.

Going away not only bought out my confidence but bought out the person I always wanted to be. Someone who went on adventures at 3am in the morning, or said yes to spontaneous nights out, or spent time round friends rather than laying in bed all night watching tv on my own and now I'm back in the job where I'm the happiest, I can quite honestly say I'm living my best life, and I genuinely think it's all from saying yes, to an experience I almost turned down!

I guess to kind of sum up this post, if you are ever offered an opportunity similar to this, or a chance that you think will help you better yourself, take it... you regret the things you didn't do more than the things you did do ~ not sure if that's the actual quote, but ya get the gist!

here's a couple of photos also, because why not x

Saying Yes To New Adventures

Sunday 16 April 2017

Saying Yes To New Adventures
It's safe to say the last couple of weeks for me have been difficult (hence the lack of blog posts - I apologise) but things can only get better!

I never went to university, and once I finished fashion college I threw myself into a commuting to London full time job, it was safe to say I hated it. All my friends were either at home working in retail still, or having the time of their lives at uni.. I was 19 waking up at 6 and not getting home till 8, it was too much for me. Since then I've felt like I missed out, on uni, on experiences which quite frankly I wanted to do.

Last year I went on holiday to a Neilson Resort... I had the time of my life and saw how fun it looked to work there. After applying last summer, and not hearing much from it I started to just get on with life, getting another job in retail / doing an internship / getting into a serious relationship. For the first time in a while I was stable, 'content,' I had money coming in and a social life... ideal..

Well, then the opportunity came up to work at the Neilson Resort in the children's club, and if you know me, you know that is my dream job (even if it is just for one summer). I had to make the decision to leave everything I'd worked for the past few months for the experience I'd always wanted, I won't lie it was not an easy decision to make. I hate disappointing people and by leaving I felt I would be doing exactly that.

But... now it gets to the deep meaningful life bit, you only get one life, and I said to myself I don't want to look back in two, five, or twenty years time and regret not doing this. For once I decided to do something for myself (probably being a little selfish on the way) but I know it was the right decision for me.

The reason I'm writing this post is because I have never felt so stuck before, I was happy, I am happy with my life, and why would I want to throw away my happiness at home for the chance to go abroad for six months, but I had to say to myself would I have ever let myself forget what an opportunity I'd turned down, and the simple answer is no. But I didn't come to this decision alone, and I needed a lot of support to make it.

If you're reading this and you're in a similar situation, take what ever opportunity it is to better yourself. At the end of the day home will always be there and if the same people don't want to be in your life after, it's their loss!

I told myself at the beginning of this year, whilst I'm still young I was going to say yes to more experiences, and I am so glad I am saying yes to this one.

So expect more travel related blogposts, like how to prepare for going away for six months, and some of my favourite beauty products which I will be taking with me, this is really exciting for me and I will try to bring you along the adventure with me!

Thank you for all your support

hugs and kisses

My Experience Bucket List

Sunday 26 March 2017

My Experience Bucket List

More, of a lifestyle, chatty post today. At the beginning of this year I said to myself I want to do more things. Whether that was travel more, go out more, or go to gigs / festivals.. I just wanted to DO things. Before when it's come to spending money on experiences I've held back because 'it's too expensive,' but last year I went to so many more events, like gigs, and holidays and I had the time of my life.

One thing I took away from last year is, experiences are so much more important than material objects. I could tell you almost everything I did last year in regards to travel, or going places, but I couldn't tell you everything I bought.

I started this year without a job, so committing to doing stuff has been difficult, but that hasn't stopped me. Going out doesn't have to be expensive, I managed to spend five days in Brighton, and it cost me £24 for the coach there and back, was it the best £24 I've spent this year so far, yes.

My Bucket List

City Breaks

These are definitely at the top of my list this year. At the end of last year me and Toby visited Paris for four days, not only did we get an incredible deal, we had the most insane time. City breaks don't have to break the bank, and can be a great chance to just get away for a couple of days.

Places I want to visit:

Barcelona
Edinburgh
Rome

Friend Holidays

One thing I've never really done before is a friend holiday, mainly because it's always so tricky to actually organise a time when you know you and all your friends are going to be free, but it's definitely something I want to put the effort into doing this year. I am so lucky to have such an amazing group of people around me, and I want to be able to have more experiences with them.

Festivals

I have never been to a festival... which for me is the craziest thing, mainly because I know I'd love them. Festivals honestly sound like the best thing ever, I've just never gone to one. I can not even begin to describe how much I enjoy concerts and gigs, and last year I got to see three of my all time favourite artists (some twice) and loved every second of them. So this year a festival is definitely on the list.

Anything NEW

So this last one is a bit vague, and I don't think I even really know what I mean, but I just want to try new experiences. Like at the beginning of this year I went Ice Skating for the first time. Last year I did kayaking, I thoroughly enjoy trying new things, whether I love them or hate them, I will give anything a go, and I want to do more of that this year.

What's on your experience bucket list this year?

*

Eventbrite, an event registration company are encouraging people to get out and spend money on their experiences, and their mantra couldn't be more fitting to me. If you are interested in setting up your own event, take a look at their event registration page

I'd also love to know some wacky things you've either tried or want to try, so either comment them below, or come say hello over on one of my socials!

My Hair Timeline

Sunday 19 March 2017

My Hair Timeline

Throughout the years I have had a range of hair styles, and hair colours, from bright red, to 'caramel' ginger, to a lob... the list goes on. In the past year or so I've definitely changed my hair a lot, so I decided to take you through my hair timeline. So sit back, and get ready for some ultimate cringe throwback pictures!

2007

Throwing it all the way back to 2007 (maybe), this was pretty much my hair all the way up until year 7, mainly because my parents wouldn't let me cut it, but oh do I look back and wish I'd listened.

2010

(yes that is olly murs ha) As soon as it got year 7 and 'emo' haircuts were in I was all over it. What nobody told me was my hair was too thick, so those heavily layered 'gothic' haircuts didn't really work on me. Especially when it used to take me two hours to straighten my hair!

2011

So, things were getting better, I'd learnt to tame my hair, and I decided to dye it bright red (this picture doesn't do it justice - although used to be one of my favourite photos!) This hairstyle didn't last for long though.

I got bored...

and had the chop. (I hated it)

2012

New Years Eve 2012, with one direction around me, my hair was the shortest, and reddest it had been. Not such a great way to start the new year, and unfortunately... it doesn't get better.

Ok... so it got a little bit better, this probably being the best it had looked since the chop, but my full fringe never lasted long, something which I never learnt (have only just really learnt).

This is quite possibly the worst my hair and I have looked, this photo doesn't quite do the hair justice. My intention was that it would be a honey, caramel brown. Well it turned out orange, with burnt red ombre...

2013

After realising what a horrible mistake I'd made, I backtracked to my natural hair colour, and let it grow out!! (oh yea and that time i 'met' harry styles)

Skipping ahead a good few months, after I'd left school, my hair had grown, oh and I was obsessed with Zoella, I decided to get my hair ombred yay heart eyes!

2016

I then pretty much stuck with this hairstyle, reombreing it so it was lighter, and going further up etc (this picture was basically all my hair goals) but guess what...

I got bored.

And... I went back to my natural colour. At the time I loved it, but where my hair had been bleached, and dyed, it was dead and wasn't growing so...

Again came the chop... In long term I think it has done my hair a load of good, but I can't help get a little bit bummed down just because I want my hair to be longer, but it will grow... eventually...

NOW

(featuring toby) This picture was taken end of last year but my hair fortunately hasn't changed since, apart from a trim. If I could go back to any haircut, it would definitely be my long ombre, but I'll get there again, eventually!

*

So that was my hair timeline, and some incredibly cringe photos, but I love looking back and seeing how much my hair has changed over the years.

Do you change your hair that often? What would your hair timeline be like?

Thank you very much for reading,
hugs and kisses

Updated Skincare Routine | March

Sunday 12 March 2017

Updated Skincare Routine

At the beginning of this year one of my 'resolutions' was to look after myself more, or have more 'me time,' this included looking after my skin more. In January I wrote a post about my new skincare routine which I'd started in December, so I thought I'd give you an update on what products I'm using now and how my skin is looking.

Since the beginning of this year I have definitely added more products to my skincare routine, and got more clued up on my skin. I have also now started doing an evening, and morning skincare, which has made so much difference to my skin.

Throughout January / February my skin was becoming quite problematic and I was getting lots of spots but mainly on my cheeks, as well as small lumps (which looked like clogged up pores) on the tops of my cheeks / around my nose, and I couldn't tell if it was my skincare routine or hormonal, but being on the pill it seemed strange that I would start getting acne, as it's meant to prevent it.

I visited a Bobbi Brown counter, and the assistant gave me advice on my skin, saying that I had a lot of dead skin, mainly from where I never really exfoliated, so since I've added that into my skincare and have seen a lot of improvement, especially with my 'clogged pores.'

My evening skincare hasn't changed too much, other than the addition of the Bobbi Brown products. I  am still loving my Liz Earle cleanse and polish, and it seems to really be lasting, especially the moisturiser and toner.

The new products which I am using are the Bobbi Brown Eye Cream and Radiance Boost Mask. I touched on this in my February Favourites but I have always had problems with under my eyes, and product staying there, and it turns out that they were dehydrated. This is definitely my new miracle product, but obviously not everyone can afford to spend £33 on an eye moisturiser. I will say though that it is worth the money, and I've been using it for around a month now, twice a day and you can barely tell that it's been touched.

The Radiance Boost Mask I use once a week (or when I remember) and leave it on my skin for around 5 minutes, then massage off with warm water to try and remove my dead skin, I then follow this with my toner, etc. I have noticed it makes a difference and I am seeing a lot less lumps under my skin, as well as it feeling generally softer and smoother.

My morning routine has very quickly become one of my favourite things. I had been using these Simple  products before I purchased the Liz Earle set, but there was something about putting oil on my face that freaked me out a bit. I have combination skin, which can sometimes be oily, sometimes be dry, it really depends and in my head, whenever I put oil on my face I immediately thought it was going to get greasy. Since then however I have realised this is not the case. The great part about making this my morning routine, as opposed to using it to remove my make up is, I didn't feel like it did a deep enough cleansing, where as in the morning it makes my skin feel super hydrated, clean and bright.

I never used to bother with a morning skincare routine because I was too lazy, but now I wake up, brush my teeth and pop on the simple products and it's so quick and so worth it. The products I would say are quite expensive for Simple but they always have offers on, and I'm pretty sure I bought these when they were half price.

Along the lines of moisturising, I am still using the Bobbi Brown Enriched Face Base just before I apply my make up and slowly I have become to love it. At first I wasn't sure, but I think that was mainly because I was using the wrong foundation. Another addition which I had to repurchase when I saw it in a beauty outlet was my favourite primer, the Bobbi Brown Pore Perfecter Primer. I got a sample of this last year and immediately fell in love, and was gutted when it ran out end of last year. It's one of those primers where I actually notice it makes a difference, and my foundation goes on so smoothly. Another product I use before applying my primer is my hydrating eye cream.

That is my updated skincare routine!!
I have been loving my skin recently and have been noticing such a change in the feel and look of my skin, and I am getting less spots (woo woo)

What skincare products do you love using?

Thank you very much for reading,

February Favourites

Sunday 5 March 2017

February Favourites

I probably say this every month, but how is it already March! This year is already going so quickly and what's even scarier is in two months I won't be a teen, I am not okay with this.

anyways... I have never done one of these posts but I've been loving so many products this month so I thought I would share them with you!

Beauty faves

Bourjois Healthy Mix Foundation (Shade 55 / Dark Beige )
This is new to my collection and, well I love it. I had been using the Bobbi Brown skin foundation, and really wasn't getting on with it, so I tried out the Bobbi Brown longer lasting and MAC pro-longwear foundations (just in little sample pots), when I came across this one in Superdrug. I have tried Bourjois foundations before, but there is just something about this one that is a great mix between healthy, and heavy coverage, my ideal foundation!

Bobbi Brown Corrector (Light Peach)
Under eye concealing has always been one of those things for me where I think if I just add more product it'll conceal.. realistically this is not the answer. When I was looking at foundations I popped to the Bobbi Brown counter and the really helpful assistant offered to match my skin. She explained to me that my under eyes were really dehydrated and thats why product seemed to disappear and why my under eyes were dark. She recommended the 'correct and conceal' products they offer and because I already have a concealer which I love, I decided to just go for the corrector. Correcting isn't something I ever gave much thought to, but it makes such a difference, and now it's a step I make sure not to miss.

Bobbi Brown Hydrating Eye Cream
The Bobbi Brown corrector I don't think would've worked as well as it does if it wasn't for this little miracle cream. When the lady at the counter matched my skin she also gave me some (much appreciated) skincare advice. My skincare routine has got so much better, and I have seen an improvement in my skin (an updated skincare routine is coming soon, so I won't go into this too much) but an area of my face I never paid much attention to was under my eye. She explained to me that if your under eye is dehydrated, normal moisturiser won't rescue it, which is why my make up was creasing under my eyes. This little cream however, wow, I apply the smallest amount every morning and evening, and I love it!

Nivea Mens Post Shave Balm
I've been wanting to try this product for a while after hearing good things about it working well as a primer, and then I saw it in Tesco at a ridiculously good price, so obviously... I had to pick it up. I don't use it everyday, but on days I know I want my make up to last I apply this to my skin after moisturising and it does make so much difference.

Primark Rose Gold Eyelash Curlers
These little bargain finds are my new holy grail. I never really use eyelash curlers just because in my head I didn't think they made all that much of a difference, and whether they actually work or not I have found my applying mascara after curling them makes them look that little bit longer.

fashion faves

Topshop Boots
I haven't had many fashion favourites this month, and that's mainly because I've just felt really uninspired by retailers. Unfortunately I do not live close enough to a Zara (probably a good thing really) and so I haven't really seen anything I like that much. Although, I do love these boots! I picked them up in the Topshop sale at the end of January, and usually I am a trainer person through and through, but these boots just do something for me, AND they were only £10!

lifestyle faves

Netflix Originals
Onto the more lifestyle-y bits. I have been more addicted to Netflix this month than I have ever been. Realistically it's because I have way too much spare time but... The series I have been loving are the Netflix originals, in particular, Orphan Black (so I think this started as an American BBC but Netflix picked it up I don't understand it really) and Riverdale.

I'll start with Orphan Black it's one of those programmes that has honestly never been done before and is just so filled with constant plot twists and surprises and turns, I don't want to give too much away, but essentially there are clones, and they're trying to find each other.

Riverdale is a bit more a 'stereotypical' american, murder, high school, mystery, drama... saying that though I'm obsessed, and my favourite thing about it is, episodes come out every Friday which is great because I can't binge watch all four seasons in a week (I definitely did not (did) do that for Orphan Black).

What have been your favourites throughout February?

London Fashion Week Festival Experience & VLOG

Friday 3 March 2017

London Fashion Week Experience

Last weekend I went to London Fashion Week Festival with my favourite girls, and I'd never been to anything like this before so really didn't know what to expect. We'd booked tickets for two catwalks, a designer and a trend. A catwalk is also something I'd never seen up close and personal so all and all it was a completely new experience for me.

I thoroughly enjoyed the day. I used to love watching shows like Britains Next Top Model, so seeing a catwalk so up close seemed liked such a surreal experience for me. Out of the two I probably enjoyed the trend one more mainly because the pieces they were wearing, anyone could wear (if that makes sense).

I sort of had a rough idea of what the catwalks were going to be like, but what the actually surrounding area and shopping part of the event was like, was completely unexpected for me! Whilst I probably couldn't of spent a whole day there, or done lots of shopping, it was really nice to wander around and see what the designers had to offer. The thing I loved the most about the event was how interactive it was, and there were so many opportunities to take, and have photos printed, which I just think makes great memories.

Would I go again? I don't think I would've enjoyed it as much, had I of not been with the girls I was with. I would definitely go again but make it more of an afternoon / morning experience, as I don't think I could do a whole day. Although I made a mistake in wearing heeled boots, so maybe that give me an unnecessary sour taste (i've learnt for next time).

So yes, I also vlogged the experience! This was my first sort of try at properly vlogging and if I'm honest I really liked it and I was happy with how it turned out, let me know what you think about it over on my youtube channel!

Did you go to London Fashion Week Festival? How did you find it?

Kylie Jenner Lipkit vs Victoria Secret Cream Lip Stain

Sunday 26 February 2017

Kylie Jenner Lipkit vs Victoria Secret Cream Lip Stain

Since the launch of Kylie Jenner's Lipkits, lots of different brands have released their own version of matte liquid lipsticks. I have to say, these are my favourite lip products, I have only really ever worn matte lipsticks, and these I think are the perfect upgrade. They are super long lasting, and depending on which one you buy can be moisturising on the lips.

The two I'm going to be comparing today are the Kylie Jenner Lipkits and the Victoria Secret Lip Stains. Now I have purchased other brands versions such as NYX but I just don't know if they are on the same level as these...

The swatches I think also say a lot about the products... I tried to use only one coat so you can really see how they come out.

Kylie Lipkits

The Kylie lipkits for me were the first matte liquid lipsticks I ever tried (or saw on the market) and I loved the concept of them, especially as they came with a lip liner. I only ever wear matte shades, even when I bought lipsticks so for me a long lasting version was perfect. Obviously the whole only being available in the US and shipping/custom fees is a bit of a downfall, but I want to mainly talk about the products.

I have three of the lipkits.. Candy K, Ginger and Exposed.  I am not too extravagant with my lip shades, basically if it's not nude.. I probably won't be wearing it. These three shades I think all have something a little different.

Candy K
This was the first I ever bought and is a pinky toned nude. Won't lie.. Candy K was not what I expected it's much more 'pink' than when Kylie used to wear or swatch it.

Ginger
Ginger is definitely my favourite of the 3 shades, it's almost like a rusty, dark toned brown nude.. that's a lot of colours but it was the only way to describe it.

Exposed
Probably my least favourite mainly just because it was a lot 'paler' than I expected and when I wear it, it just kind of washes me out.. It's hard to explain

Victoria Secret  Cream Lip Stains

So, there are a lot more than just these two brands on the market, and I have been tempted to try others such as MAC but I never found the right shade, or price point, especially after feeling a little ripped off by Kylie. When I was in a Victoria Secret store a couple of weeks ago I saw these at the till and instantly fell in love with the colours. I bought two!

Adored
This is probably a little too similar to Candy K but for the price and the quality, if you can get your hands on one in store it's definitely worth picking up if you want a cheaper dupe.

Wanted
Probably my favourite of the two, this is more of a brown toned nude and is super versatile.

Kylie vs Victoria Secret

Now lets get down to the nitty, gritty. Whilst I love the Kylie Lipkits, which offer way more shades / variations and come with a lip liner, which is always appreciated. I do find them quite drying.. one thing I hate about matte lip products. I also feel like they never turn out how I expect them to, I'm always disappointed with the colour, which is such a shame. However... the Victoria Secret Lip Stains on the other hand... whilst their shades are limited, are just as long wearing and have more of a 'buttery' feel to them. Basically I'm not crying after four hours because my lips are cracking. I honestly could not rate these higher, and considering they are only like £11 I think that is such a great price for such a high quality product. You also don't get hit with a £20 customs fee charge! The only bad side of the VS ones are they sometimes take a little longer to dry, but in the long run are so worth it.

Have you tried any other liquid lipstick brands that you've loved?

Thank you very much for reading,
hugs and kisses

How I Accessorise | Everyday

Sunday 19 February 2017

How I Accessorise | Everyday

When it comes to accessorising I don't do a lot of it, mainly because I'm lazy and the thought of trying to find jewellery to wear takes too long - realistically it takes a minute but like i said i'm lazy

However this year I really want to accessorise a lot more. When I was working on a jewellery department for a short period I began to fall in love with it, and I love the way wearing jewellery makes me feel... especially when it's pretty and sparkly.

coat | jumper | jeans | trainers | ring | watch | earrings

I tend to when it comes to everyday keep my accessories minimal, for comfort reasons mainly. I get easily agitated when I have lots of bits on my hands and my wrists.

Because I don't often over accessorise using jewellery I like to add bits to my outfit to give it that little extra touch, accessorising doesn't just have to be jewellery. This gorgeous biker/pilot jacket is great addition to any outfit and really makes it pop, as well as being super cosy. The jumper has to be one of my favourite purchases, not only is it really comfy, the little bows are so cute ok they get in the way sometimes but they are just too adorable. The ribbons also add a little something to the outfit without necessarily being an 'accessory.'

Jewellery wise on a daily basis I keep to a minimum, a watch is my staple and you can pretty much guarantee I will always be wearing one. Earrings are also pretty much always in my ear. Overall I think I have 8 piercings in my ear and I went through a phase of only ever wearing two in at a time, since picking up some really cute multi-packs in Accessorize I now always have them in. If I remember I also love wearing a cute little dainty ring, this particular one from Swarovski was a great addition to my collection.

*

This was my first sort of try at an outfit post, I loved going out and taking these photos and I definitely want to start doing more posts like this

What jewellery do you like to wear on a daily basis?

MAC Eyeshadow Pro Palette

Sunday 12 February 2017

MAC Eyeshadow Pro Palette

Over the past couple of years, and as my make up has developed I have fallen more and more in love with eyeshadows. Back in the day, it used to be all about eyeliner for me, where as now I couldn't be more opposite. One thing I fell in love with the idea of when I got into eyeshadows was the MAC Eyeshadow Pro Palette, and I think people's palettes can say a lot about them..
mine says either I'm boring, or brown, orange and anything that shimmers are my best friends.
I just honestly think these are such a cute idea, because then you can build a palette and know you're going to use every colour. The palette itself contains 15 slots, then each of the pans cost £10 but last ages.

This is my current collection of eyeshadows, almost halfway there and as you can see I'm not very adventurous but I do love the neutrals / browns, this year however I do really want to branch out with these colours and go a bit more crazy, maybe throw in a couple of berry tones. So I thought I'd go into a bit more detail into the shades I currently own.

mulch

This was the first shade I ever bought and I love it. It's the perfect all over the lid brown shade and has a bit of a shimmer to it, what more could you ask for.

I use this as an everyday, all over lid shade, with a darker brown in the crease.

honey lust

Honey Lust is a beautiful gold shimmery shade which I actually originally bought to be an all over lid eyeshadow, however being tanned, I find sometimes lighter eyeshadows don't suit my skin tone, so now I mainly use this as an inner eye highlight, or brow bone highlight.

A look I sometimes do if I'm going out, is apply the darker orange shimmer shade to the inner corner, and outer edge of my lid and put this gold in the middle, this is usually when i'm feeling extra jazzy.

all that glitters

This is one of my newer shades, and I love it. For me it's the perfect glittery shade as it's got a nude/rose gold tint to it. The main reason I love this palette is you can take out the shadows and move them around, which being a bit of a perfectionist is helpful as I like to have things in an order, i.e shimmers with shimmers, mattes with mattes.

I use this mainly as an inner eye highlight, and brow bone highlight. I have also recently, because these shadows are really pigmented, been using this as a nose highlight, literally just getting a little bit on my finger and popping it on the tip of my nose.

mystery

I actually bought this shade in a beauty outlet store, I think for something crazy like £7.50. The next two shades are quite similar, as they are both matte, and both dark brown. Mystery however is more of a grey toned brown.

I use this on my outer eye and in my crease. Also if you're not wearing a dark shade on the lid, or you don't want to go heavy on the eyeliner this works nicely in smoking out your lash line.

This brown shade is a lot softer and more of a warmer colour. I use this a lot with mulch, to blend out on the outer corner of my eyes.

This I use the same as mystery, although because it's also a bit warmer, I like to use it under my eyes as well, just below the lash line.

I love this colour so much, it's very much a burnt orange rust, in a matte shade and it gives me all the feels. I've been loving copper, orange shades recently (it's got everything to do with Kylie's bronze palette) and this is the perfect burnt orange all over lid shade, as it's not too bright orange but doesn't dull your eye.

I use this all over my lid, and under my eye, I also like to add glitter to the middle sometimes to just brighten it up, i.e. I did this on Christmas.

antiqued

My newest shade to my palette and probably my favourite at the moment. This is a beautiful shimmery bronze, burnt orange shade. It is easily my favourite eyeshadow that I've ever owned, did she really just say that? yes, yes I did.

It's really versatile, so I wear this all over my lid, or under my eye. I also use a gel liner in the shade rich ground as an all over lid shade which is a glittery orange a bit lighter than this one, and these two work great together with this in the crease. Basically I love it.

So, that is my current collection, I'll be sure to let you know when it grows, or once I've filled it up. I honestly think these palettes are so worth it, the eyeshadows are really nicely pigmented, and it's personalised, also you don't even have to fill it up it if you don't want to.

Do you have a palette that you fill up yourself? or are there any MAC shades you'd recommend?

Thank you very much for reading,
